Director of Global Presales Engineering

Celtra is hiring a Director of Presales Engineering to oversee the full scope of presales engineering and solutions design for new clients. This is a unique opportunity to lead, evolve and create on top of a number of foundational presales elements that already exist at Celtra. The right combination of strategy, leadership, technical, sales, and operational skills will drive this individual’s and the function’s continued success. Reporting into the EVP of Global Sales, this role operates cross functionally with high visibility and meaningful impact. This role will require this individual to work in a player/coach capacity demonstrating an ability to work directly with sales and clients to deliver customized product demonstrations that close new customers and business.This position sits across all qualified opportunities, supporting sales by moving in and out of sales cycles as required. This person is ultimately responsible for RFx responses, working with product & engineering to build out A+ response repositories, solutions playbooks, and product demonstrations while keeping scale in mind. As well as the external value, this role also enables the reverse. With their exposure to all sales engagements they are able to take their field gained intelligence back to the organisation in a concise manner to help identify capability gaps and emerging opportunities.


This is a client facing role and requires high quality human interaction skills as well as polished written communication.


Core responsibilities

  • Discovery around existing and future customer architectures, workflows, business and technical challenges/opportunities.
  • Provide product/service advice and technical guidance to sales representatives, partners, and prospects.
  • Build a global, world-class presales engineering team and function 
  • Create and deliver customized product demonstrations (PoC's) for prospects, customers, and partners on-site and remote.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to evolve process and provide leadership on RFP/RFI responses
  • Contribute field knowledge and feedback to direct future product requirements/enhancements.
  • Enhance pre-sales demonstration environments and materials.
  • Engage with sales and colleagues in ongoing knowledge sharing and subject matter growth.
  • Proactively anticipate opportunities to expand or improve Celtra product offerings; identify deficiencies & technical issues with a potential negative impact on customer expectations and delivery.
  • Author how-to guides and best-practice content.
  • Operate across multiple concurrent sales cycles.
  • Thrive in diverse client situations across multiple industries/verticals and their unique creative content workflows

In addition, the following capabilities would be a strong plus

  • You bring 8-12+ years’ experience as a sales engineer or implementation engineer working with enterprise SaaS product(s)
  • Thinking fast on your feet and enjoying the ability to improvise
  • Experience on stage, in webinars, and presenting/communicating to large audiences
  • Technical solution design for advanced use cases using platform APIs and product features
  • Experience with creative software like Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Sketch
  • Coordinate with product and engineering on the delivery of bespoke integrations and feature adaptations.
  • Engage with product marketing, product and customer success on existing gaps, features, and product strategies.
  • Presentation skills and experience that demonstrate technical proficiency, digital marketing knowledge, business, and communication skills
  • Ability to assess customer requirements, identify business problems, and demonstrate proposed solutions
  • Understanding of sales process, cycles and methodologies.
