We're looking for a Director of Engineering, DevOps, who will lead a team and be responsible for the availability and performance of our platform. Because our organisation and business are growing, this is becoming a serious challenge. 

To support the needs of a bigger organisation, you will have to lead a team to move our production environment, tools and processes to the next level. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, in this role you will closely partner with the CTO to ensure that all challenges in DevOps team are executed to the highest standards. 

 

Job responsibilities 

  • Keep our platform up and running
  • Design and deliver software to improve availability, efficiency, scalability of platform
  • Manage five eager DevOps engineers and coach them to reach their full potential
  • Maintain existing (Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery procedures, post-mortems, on-call rotations etc.) and establish new processes and documents if needed
  • Partner with feature development teams to design scalable, stable and efficient services
  • Support Release Engineering and QA teams

 

Recquirements 

You should have:

  • 5+ experience or strong interest with maintaining a high level of availability and quality of service in production environments
  • 2+ experiences with leading a small team
  • Experience in software development with languages such as Bash, Go and Python
  • Experience with networking and security (TCP/IP, IPSec, VPC) and managing databases in production (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Snowflake)
  • Fluent written and spoken English - you will be using it every day
  • Interest and awareness of the future infrastructure trends

Good to have:

  • Experience building and maintaining production systems on AWS using EC2, RDS, S3, etc. and familiarity interacting with the AWS APIs
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraforum or other deployment/provisioning tools
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, NewRelic etc.
  • Experience in managing high throughput services (1000 requests per second does not scare you)
  • B.Sc. or higher in Computer Science or a related field
